ProCUREment: How to Donate Medical Equipment & Supplies

• Equipment which has been accepted in trade
• Designated annual donations to meet need
• Donation of retired or upgraded models
• Consumables or equipment which has been returned, in some cases with minor damage, from your clients.
• Inventory balancing through surplus donations.

All equipment should be of good quality, medically appropriate for developing countries and, preferably in working order. When preparing your equipment for donation, please make sure to include any available accessories and supplies, such as cables, paper, etc., so that the unit can be fully functional. Equipment should not exceed 15 years of age.

Lives throughout the resource limited parts of the world – 138 countries – will be impacted by your donations. Project C.U.R.E. is a 501 (c) 3 and all donations will be tax-deductible. In addition, you can reference IRS code 170 (e) 3 for guidelines. For not for profit organizations, your donations should count toward your community charitable requirements. Note that we are not able to provide you with financial values of your donations, however we will provide acknowledgement of the donations.

Project C.U.R.E. can provide feedback in the form of destinations served, and (whenever possible) photographs of facilities, often before and after donation.

Project C.U.R.E. operates on a 3.6% administrative overhead, with the generous donation of time and talent from over 25,000 volunteers. We welcome your staff to volunteer, either as a group or on an individual basis, at our facilities. In addition, we offer in-country clinic opportunities of many types.

Project C.U.R.E. provides the services necessary to make equipment ready for shipment. We ask your support, whenever possible, in assisting with transit costs outside of our collection range. Although we are fortunate to have some transportation partnerships, your contribution would be greatly appreciated.
